Saving the System Parameters

Scroll

Settings made on the System tab of the general settings dialog can be saved in a system parameter file (*.pfl) and then read from this file.

For example, you can create a settings file for 3D modeling (that is, the file with the optimum settings to work with 3D models), a settings file for development of engineering documentation, etc. Then, to configure the system for performing a specific task, you just need to load the settings from the required file.

To save current system settings, please do the following.

1.Run the Settings – Save parameters... command

2.In the dialog box that appears, enter the name and select the path for the system settings file. The extension of the file is pfl.

3.Press the Save button.

The names of recently opened documents and the statuses of the windows of the opened documents are not recorded in the system settings file.

To load a previously saved settings file, please do the following.

1.Run the Settings – Load parameters... command

2.In the dialog box that appears, select the path and the name of the *.pfl file.

3.Click Open.

4.The settings from this file will be applied.

Together with KOMPAS-3D, you receive several pre-configured files. The are located in the \Profiles subfolder inside the main system folder.

If you need to save the data about the kit configuration for further use (information about included applications, libraries, utilities, autorun setting, etc.), please use the Configurator.
