A BOM item is the information in its essence. It is a set of heterogeneous data about a material object (for example, a part, assembly or document) included in the BOM.
If we apply this terminology to the "paper" BOM, we can say that a BOM item is a line (or several lines) with data on one subject, see figure.
BOM objects
If we compare a BOM with a database, BOM items will be similar to database entries.
BOM items are divided into base and auxiliary.
