When working in KOMPAS-3D, standard right Cartesian coordinate systems are used.

There are absolute coordinates in each graphic document and document-model. They cannot be removed from the document.

In a 3D model, the coordinate system defines coordinate planes. The coordinate system is schematically displayed on the screen as three orthogonal segments, and the planes – in the form of rectangles lying on these planes. If required, you can create local coordinate systems. For more details on coordinate systems in 3D models, see section Coordinate Systems.

In a graphic document, the coordinate system lies in the plane parallel to the screen and is displayed in the form of two orthogonal arrows. If required, you can create local coordinate systems. For more details on coordinate systems in graphic documents, see section Coordinate systems in a graphic document.
