Flat Portion of the Incision

Scroll

A flat portion of the incision may be located between its bends. Its presence depends on the ratio of the specified (H) and minimum (Hmin) sizes of the incision (see Table).

Hmin is a minimum inner size of the incision without a flat portion which is defined according to a formula:

Hmin = 2 · R - (2 · R + S) · cosα, where

R is the inner bend radius;

S is sheet material thickness;

α is the bend angle.

The H and R parameters are of greater priority, hence, the value entered in the Angle filed is ignored. The bend angle α is auto-calculated by the system based on the aforementioned formula.
