Using only the absolute coordinate system is not always convenient. In designing, there often occur situations when distances or angles should be measured not from the bottom left-hand corner of a sheet but from other point.
To implement such a method of setting parameters of objects in KOMPAS-3D, local coordinate systems (LCS) are used. Having created a LCS at the required points of a document (they normally conform to certain points of a part or unit being designed), you can subsequently select any of them as the current one. In so doing, all the coordinates and angles will be calculated and displayed just in this current system. When the LCS is no longer required, you can delete it from the document.
