In the process of building a model, you can thicken the edges of the solid or surface. As a result of the operation, a layer is formed, which is the space filled by the material between the original and equidistant surfaces or two equidistant surfaces (on both sides of the original). An example of thickening of a face to the surface is shown in the figure.
