You can use the following file formats to import surface(s) into a KOMPAS–3D model file:

•file with the sat, igs, jt, stp or step extension,

•data file with the txt, xls or ods extension.

You can use the imported surfaces, for example, for trimming parts of a model or as a target object of the extrusion (see the picture), you can knit them with other surfaces, etc.

Example of using an imported surface

a) imported surface and sketch of the extrusion element,

the arrow indicates the direction of extrusion;

b) result of extrusion to surface
