Failed to read the file of a component |
Scroll |
This dialog appears if, when opening a model, it is not possible to read the model inserted into the opened component (including from library).
The dialog box shows the file names of the model being opened and the component that cannot be read. The file may be missing or damaged.
Select the desired action by clicking one of the dialog buttons. When necessary, before clicking the Replace or Skip button, enable the For All option.
•Replace button allows you to use another file instead of an unread one or specify a new path to component file. After pressing this button, a file open dialog appears on the screen, in which you need to specify the replacement model. If the For al option is enabled then each next unread model is automatically searched in the folder where the last specified replacement model is located. If the search result is positive, the found model is inserted instead of the unread one, the transition to the next one takes place. If the result is negative, the file open dialog appears on the screen.
To confirm the replacement of components, save the model after opening it. Otherwise, the next time you open the model, a message will appear again stating that the component file has not been read.
•Skip button allows you to open the model without the unread component. This component itself and all objects derived from it (for example, mates in which it participates) are marked in the Design Tree as erroneous. At the same time, information about the inserted model is stored in the model, and subsequently, subject to the presence of a component file, the model can be displayed in its previous form. In the absence of a component file, when opening the model, a message will still be displayed indicating that the file has not been read.
•The Cancel button allows you to interrupt the model opening.

Components from the Standard Products application may not be found because the current path to the model repository is different from the path recorded in the model being opened (for example, because it was created on another workstation). In this case, you can ignore the missing components, and once the model opens, you can edit the paths (i.e., update links to the model) using the Stock Products application. |

If the model being opened includes components that are executions of the same model, then a dialog will appear for each of Failed to read the file of a component containing the name of the same file – the component data source. You can replace model versions that are not found manually or automatically. For manual replacement, each time a dialog appears, you must press the Replace button and specify the file and the desired execution in the file open dialog that appears. To replace all versions automatically, turn on the option For All press the Replace button. In the Open File dialog that appears, specify the model file with versions, without selecting the version from the list. The components of the model to be opened will be automatically replaced with the corresponding versions from the selected file. If you need to replace all components with one specific version, then after specifying the model file, select the desired version from the list of versions. Similarly, the replacement of non-found components that belong to different versions of the same assembly model is performed. |
