Top down design with pre-detailing
This method suggests step-by-step creation of components, from the top to the lower levels, in the context of the models to which these components belong. After creation, components are developed in separate windows. Parts building is based on copies of the detailing geometry objects, while subassemblies building is based on the detailing geometry inserts.
This method applies in the following cases:
•scope and design is not quite clear in the beginning;
•most parts and assemblies are developed for the first time.

1.Preparing detailing geometry |
•a part or assembly file with the detailing geometry of the developed assembly is created |
•If required, collections of geometric objects are created for the main nodes within assemblies. |
|
2.Assembly creation and insertion of the detailing geometry |
•– file of the developed assembly is created; •pre-arranged detailing geometry is inserted in the assembly |
•inserted detailing geometry will be used for monitoring the assembly development |
|
3.Context creation of components |
•in the context of the assembly, components are created |
•After the creation of components is complete, the assembly model can be closed. |
|
4.Component development |
•– each component is opened in a separate window; •– detailing geometry is inserted into the component or its individual objects are copied; •– component geometry is developed (if the component is a subassembly, then in its context the operations of step 3 shall be repeated) |
•Objects of the detailing geometry in subassemblies are used to control their development; •collections prepared in step 1 can be used for copying |
