This section contains recommendations for arranging the teamwork with an assembly model.

Requirements for the process of teamwork assembly development

Developers’ work should not be duplicated.

In all possible cases, the work of any developer on the assembly and its parts should not impede the work of other developers on the assembly and its parts.

If necessary, work results of one developer can be protected from unauthorized changes by other developers.

Composition of development participants

Responsible for development:

makes decisions on the design of the assembly;

creates an assembly file, node model files;

develops the source data – assembly detailing geometry;

inserts the detailing geometry into the assembly;

places the node models in the assembly.

creates and configures the build load modes.

Node developers:

develop nodes and other components of the assembly;

if necessary, place the individual components in the assembly.

It is advisable to arrange the work in such a way that node developers perform a minimum of actions in the context of the assembly.

Recommendations for effective organization of work:

password-protect the system load modes (typically, only the person responsible for development knows the password);

create password-protected customized load modes according to the table.

Load Mode

Description

Comment

ABC development

("ABC" is the name of the node(s) that a particular developer is developing)

for working on ABC node(s) in the context of the assembly

The Full load mode with the editing enabled is selected for ABC components;

The remaining components are assigned one of the system load types with editing restriction (Full – if using the component's geometry is permitted, Simplified – if only viewing the component is intended, Empty or Size – if viewing the component is undesirable);

For a component of detailing geometry the Full load mode with the editing disabled is selected

load modes are created for each of the developers;

while working with a load mode, the developer can edit the nodes developed within the assembly, add new components to the assembly, but cannot edit other components of the assembly

Detailed view

to view the assembly with a full load of its components

for all components and for a component of detailing geometry the Full load mode with the editing disabled is selected

all development participants can use this type of loading

Simplified view

to view the assembly with a simplified load of its components

for all components and for a component of detailing geometry the Simplified load mode with edit restriction is applied
(sketches, curves, points are not displayed with this load mode; If the objects of the specified type included in the detailing geometry should be visible, select the load mode Full)

Additionally, other customized load modes can be created to solve various tasks (for example, a load mode where theEmpty load mode is assigned to all fastening parts, or a load mode for viewing individual nodes in an assembly, where editing of all components is prohibited, while view-only components are loaded in a simplified way).
