A more precise calculation of the size of characters in the current drawing or fragment is enabled in the dialog invoked with the Settings — Parameters... — Current drawing/fragment — Displaying text command.
A similar dialog is used for setting the display of text in documents of other types: text, BOM, part and assembly.
When calculating using the enhanced algorithm, the character size does not depend on the scaling configured in Windows and the use of ClearType (the effect of these parameters on texts in KOMPAS documents is most noticeable in Windows version 10 and higher and means that the actual character height is different from the configured height).
The dialog contains a single option — Enable the improved algorithm for calculating text sizes.
The improved calculation algorithm was added in the express update KOMPAS-3D 19.0.7. Therefore, this option can be enabled if the current document was created in any of the earlier versions of KOMPAS-3D and this setting has not yet been applied to it.
If a document is created in KOMPAS-3D with express-update 19.0.7 or a later version, the option in the dialog is enabled and cannot be disabled. The option comes to the same state after applying the algorithm to the document. That is, if you enable the option and close the dialog with the OK button, then at the next dialog opening, it will be impossible to disable the option.

Applying the improved algorithm for calculation of text character sizes the dimensions of document text may be increased. Because of this, labels, in particular technical specifications in the drawings, can overlay the adjacent objects. The width/height of the tables may change or the rows in the cells may overlap (this depends on the setting of the cells format in the table). The number of pages may increase in a text document. Therefore, after applying this setting to a document, we recommend checking the texts in it. If it turns out that changing the dimensions of the texts is unacceptable and the use of the improved algorithm should be canceled, close the document without saving. |
Enabling the option Apply improved text sizing algorithm, click OK. The text character size in the document will be recalculated.
Click Cancel to exit the dialog without applying the enhanced algorithm. The character size will remain unchanged.
