Display of overlapping objects for a current graphic document is set up in the Display Overlapping Objects dialog, invoked by the command Setup — Parameters... — Current drawing/fragment — Overlapping objects.

The dialog allows for enabling or disabling the clearing of background – automatic break of dashes and lines during their intersection with the following objects:

text on drawing,

arrow and/or caption as part of:

dimensions,

surface finish designation,

datum designations,

leader lines,

stamping designations,

marking designations,

designations of changes,

reference numbers,

geometric tolerance,

cut line designations,

view arrow designations,

leader element designations.

With the break enabled, you can:

enable ignoring texts consisted of spaces only, i.e. undo clearing the background under captions which do not contain other symbols except spaces,

set the value of a gap, i.e. determine the width of field around the listed objects, around which the overlapping objects will not be displayed.

The set value of gap does not affect the sizes of the field being cleared around the texts. These sizes are detected by the system automatically. They are proportional to the text symbol height.

On completion of the set-up, click OK. Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the dialog box.

The setup performed in this dialog will be used by default. If necessary, for each of the above named objects you can enable or disable clearing of the background by fetching the same-named command from the context menu or from the Detailing menu.
