Appendix IX. Defining the function of modifying a parameter

Scroll

When constructing solids and surfaces, the values of some parameters can change according to the given function.

Using the group of buttons, Function Type is selected, located on the Parameter Panel.

The following options are available.

Constant — the value of the parameter is constant.
The value needs to be entered into the corresponding field.

Linear — the parameter value changes according to the linear law.
It is required to enter the parameter values at the start and end positions of the section. Values at intermediate positions will be calculated according to the linear law.

Cubical — the parameter value changes according to the cubic law.
It is required to enter the parameter values at the start and end positions of the section. Values at intermediate positions will be calculated according to the cubic law.

According to the law of the curve — the value of the parameter changes by the law y=f(x), as defined by the curve in the sketch.
Specify the sketch containing the curve that defines the parameter value variation law. The name of the selected sketch will appear in the field The Law. See section for more details on defining the arbitrary law of modifying a parameter...
