Appendix II. Keyboard shortcuts to run commands

General system operations


Keyboard shortcut

Description


<Enter>, <Space>

Fix (enter) a point. In a graphic document, start editing the selected object (the cursor should not be placed on the object).


<Ctrl>+ <Enter>

Finish the object creation operation or go to the next stage of work, completing the current one (for example, in the process of creating a report, go to the Data processing window, completing the current operation of fine-tuning the report parameters).


<Esc>

Abort execution of a command, close a menu page or dialog, deselect objects.


<Delete>

Delete all selected objects.

<Ctrl>+<Z>

Undo the previous action.

<Ctrl>+<Y>

Redo the last undone action.


<Ctrl>+<\/>

Zoom in/out the current tab relative to the center of the graphic range.


<F1>

Call the KOMPAS-3D reference system (context-sensitive help).


<Ctrl>+<F4>

Close current tab.


<Ctrl>+<W>

Close current document.


The document can be represented in the KOMPAS-3D window with several tabs. This happens when the special mode is launched there the work is done in a separate tab — for example, editing technical specifications. If the current tab is the mode tab, the shortcut <Ctrl>+<F4> closes only this tab, and the shortcut <Ctrl>+<W> closes both the mode tab and the document tab.

<Ctrl>+<PgUp>

Open the previous document in the same folder. This closes the current document.

<Ctrl>+<PgDn>

Open the next document in the same folder. This closes the current document.


<Alt>+<F4>

Complete the work with KOMPAS-3D.

Make a search field active.

<Tab>

Go to the next cell.


<Shift>+<Tab>

Go to the previous cell.


<Ctrl>+<>

Move the cursor one word to the left inside the cell, and then go to the previous cell.


<Ctrl>+<>

Move the cursor one word to the right inside the cell, and then go to the next cell.

<PgUp>

Move the cursor to the top line of the current window.

Move the cursor to the beginning of the line.


<End>

Move the cursor to the end of the line.


<Ctrl>+<>

Move the cursor one word to the left. For a table, move inside the cell, and then move to the previous cell.


<Ctrl>+<>

Move the cursor one word to the right. For a table, move inside the cell, and then move to the next cell.


<Ctrl>+<>

Move the cursor to the beginning of the current paragraph; if the cursor was at the beginning of a paragraph, then move to the beginning of the previous paragraph.


<Ctrl>+<>

Move the cursor to the beginning of the next paragraph.


<Ctrl>+ <Home>

Move the cursor to the beginning of the first paragraph of the document or the edited text in the drawing.


<Ctrl>+ <End>

Move the cursor to the end of the last paragraph of the document or the edited text in the drawing.


<Tab>

Tab to the right.


<Enter>

Start the next paragraph.


<Ctrl>+ <Enter>

Start the next paragraph on a new page (i.e. insert a forced page break).


<Shift>+ <Enter>

Start a new line in the current paragraph (i.e. insert a forced line break).

<Delete>

Delete one character to the right of the cursor (the right part of the line shifts to the left).

If the cursor is in front of a paragraph end marker, then pressing the <Delete> key will merge two paragraphs.


<Ctrl>+ <Delete>

Delete one word to the right of the cursor (the right part of the line shifts to the left).


<Backspace>

Delete one character to the left of the cursor (the right part of the line shifts to the left).

When you delete the leftmost symbol in a line, the cursor moves to the last position of the previous line.


<Ctrl>+ <Backspace>

Delete one word to the left of the cursor (the right part of the line shifts to the left).


<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<Space>

Insert a non-breaking space.


<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<->

Insert a non-breaking hyphen.


<Insert>

Switch between the insert and replace modes.

In the insert mode, the character is inserted at the cursor position pushing the rest of the characters.

In the replace mode, the characters entered replace the characters to the right of the cursor. With the replace mode enabled, the thick cursor is displayed to indicate this mode.


<Ctrl>+<Space>

Bring text parameters to style.


<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<>

Select one word to the left of the cursor.


<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<>

Select one word to the right of the cursor.


<Shift>+<>

Select one character to the left of the cursor.


<Shift>+<>

Select one character to the right of the cursor.


<Shift>+<>

Select one line to the left of the cursor.


<Shift>+<>

Select one line to the right of the cursor.


<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<R>

Convert highlighted symbols to the Cyrillic.


<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<L>

Convert highlighted symbols to the Latin.


<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<D>

Convert highlighted symbols to the lower case.


<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<U>

Convert highlighted symbols to the upper case.

<Ctrl>+<I>

Apply italic style to the selected text.

<Ctrl>+<B>

Apply bold style to the selected text.

<Ctrl>+<U>

Apply underline style to the selected text.

<Ctrl> + <F7>

Run a spell checker on all text objects in the document or on the entire text object currently being edited.

Go to the next tab.


<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<Tab>

Go to the previous tab.

Description

<Ctrl>+<G>

Enable/disable grid in the graphic range of the active tab.

<Ctrl>+<F9>

Refresh the image in the graphic area of the active tab.


<PgUp>

Scroll the image up by one screen.


<PgDn>

Scroll the image down by one screen.


<Home>

Scroll the image to the top of the document.


<End>

Scroll the image to the bottom of the document.

 

<Ctrl>+<PgUp>

Scroll the image left by one screen.

 

<Ctrl>+<PgDn>

Scroll the image right by one screen.

 

<Ctrl>+ <Home>

Scroll the image to the left border of the document.

 

<Ctrl>+ <End>

Scroll the image to the right border of the document.

Managing a cursor position, and snapping
(Using the keys on the optional numeric keypad,
with NumLock mode enabled)

Description


<Ctrl>+<0>

Move the cursor to the point (0,0) of the current coordinate system.


<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<5>

Place the cursor at the nearest defining point of the element, taking into account background views and layers.


<Ctrl>+<5>

Place the cursor at the nearest defining point of the element, without regard to background views and layers. This keyboard shortcut is also available when the NumLock mode is not active. In this case it allows to place the cursor at the nearest defining point of the element, taking into account background views and layers.


<Ctrl>+<.>

Set the cursor along the normal to the nearest point of the nearest element.


<Shift>+<5>

Set the cursor to the nearest center of the object.


<Ctrl>+<1>

Snap to the nearest element along the diagonal between the negative direction of the OX axis and the negative direction of the OY axis of the current coordinate system.


<Ctrl>+<2>

Snap to the nearest element against the OY axis direction of the current coordinate system.


<Ctrl>+<3>

Snap to the nearest element along the diagonal between the positive direction of the OX axis and the negative direction of the OY axis of the current coordinate system.


<Ctrl>+<4>

Snap to the nearest element against the OX axis direction of the current coordinate system.


<Ctrl>+<6>

Snap to the nearest element along the OX axis direction of the current coordinate system.


<Ctrl>+<7>

Snap to the nearest element along the diagonal between the negative direction of the OX axis and the positive direction of the OY axis of the current coordinate system.


<Ctrl>+<8>

Snap to the nearest element along the OY axis direction of the current coordinate system.


<Ctrl>+<9>

Snap to the nearest element along the diagonal between the positive direction of the OX axis and the positive direction of the OY axis of the current coordinate system.

<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<1>

Move the cursor one step along the negative OX direction and the negative OY direction of the current coordinate system (CS).


<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<2>

Move the cursor one step along the negative OY direction of the CS.


<Ctrl> + <Alt> + <3>

Move the cursor one step along the positive OX direction and the negative OY direction of the CS.


<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<4>

Move the cursor one step along the negative OX direction of the CS.


<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<6>

Move the cursor one step along the positive OX direction of the CS.


<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<7>

Move the cursor one step along the negative OX direction and the positive OY direction of the CS.


<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<8>

Move the cursor one step along the positive OY direction of the CS.


<Ctrl> + <Alt> + <9>

Move the cursor one step along the positive OX direction and the positive OY direction of the CS.


If NumLock is not active (NumLock indicator not lit), then movement in the following directions is possible:


<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<2>

Move the cursor one step along the negative OY direction of the CS.


<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<4>

Move the cursor one step along the negative OX direction of the CS.


<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<6>

Move the cursor one step along the positive OX direction of the CS.


<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<8>

Move the cursor one step along the positive OY direction of the CS.


In addition, if no command is invoked, the cursor can be moved with the <2>, <4>, <6>, <8> keys and the arrow keys when NumLock is not active.

<Shift> + <>

Rotate counterclockwise within screen plane.

Rotate clockwise within screen plane.


<Space> + <>

Rotate 90° up in the vertical plane,

perpendicular to the screen plane.


<Space bar> + <>

Rotate 90° down in the vertical plane,

perpendicular to the screen plane.


<Space> + <>

Rotate 90° right in the horizontal plane.


<Space bar> + <>

Rotate 90° left in the horizontal plane.

Special actions in the print preview

Call the output settings dialog

<Z>

Rotate selected sheets counterclockwise.

<X>

Rotate selected sheets clockwise.

<E>

Enable/disable printed sheet area selection mode.

<D>

Select sheets by marquee (from left to right – encompassing frame, from right to left – intersecting frame).

<Ctrl> + <A>

Select all documents displayed in preview mode.

<F>

Call the dialog to adjust the scale of sheets.

<C>

Call the Join and align selected sheets command.

<H>

Call the Place selected sheets in page nodes command.

<G>

Call the Find overlapping sheets command.

<F9>

Show full documents prepared for printing.

<F10>

Call the Scale by selected sheets command.

<Ctrl> + <F>

Call the dialog for setting print filters.

<Ctrl> + <O>

Call the Add documents command.


<Ctrl> + <F4>

Call the Close preview command.

Miscellaneous

<Shift> + <Ctrl> + <pointing to the model>

Select the entire assembly component, select the entire part.


<Shift> + <Ctrl> + <pointing to the

component in an associative view>

Select the component in the associative view and in the Drawing Tree.


<Ctrl>+<dragging with mouse of

selected element>

Copy the selected assembly component, copy the selected drawing element (fragment).

<Ctrl> + <T>

Start picking over the objects under the cursor.

<Ctrl> + <D>

In the current drawing, fragment or sketch — disable/enable global snaps.

In the model – create a new drawing with associative view of the current model.


<F3>

Find or replace the next occurrence of the specified text.


<F4>

Redo last command.

<F5>

Rebuild.

<F7>

Enable/disable the parameter values rounding.

<F8>

Enable/disable the orthogonal drawing mode.

<F9>

Display document in full.

<F11>

Enable/disable the display of variable names in dimensions of sketches and operations.


<Ctrl> + <K>

Toggle the appearance of the cursor (large or small).

<Ctrl> + <A>

Select all objects that are included in the current fragment or current view of active drawing.

<Ctrl> + <P>

Print the document.


<Shift> + <Enter>, <Space> + <Enter>

Open the dialog for editing the label of the selected dimension or designation.

Note that the combination <Space> + <Enter> works only in graphic documents.

<Ctrl> + <Shift> + <P>

Enable/disable Remember Status button.

<Ctrl> + <Shift> + <S>

Call the Copy Properties command.

<Ctrl> + <Ins>, <Ctrl> + <C>

Copy the selected objects to the clipboard.

<Shift> + <Delete>, <Ctrl> + <X>

Cut the selected objects to the clipboard.

<Shift> + <Ins>, <Ctrl> + <V>

Paste the contents of the clipboard into the document.


<Home>

Move the selection to the first object of the Design Tree (when working with the Design Tree).


<End>

Move the selection to the last object of the Design Tree (when working with the Design Tree).


<Ctrl> + <Shift> + <F12>

Disconnect from KOMPAS-3D all connected applications (except embedded applications) and libraries.
