The ASCON company thanks you for purchasing the KOMPAS-3D system and hopes that it will be a true and reliable assistant in your daily work and will let substantially expand a circle of tasks solved at your enterprise using CAD systems.
The main task solved by the KOMPAS-3D system is product modeling aimed at essential reduction of the design cycle and earliest start of product manufacturing. These goals are achieved through the following:
•fast development of the design and engineering documentation required for the release of products (assembly drawings, BOMs, detailing, etc.),
•transfer of geometry of products into computational packets,
•transfer of geometry into the packets of development of control programs for the CNC equipment,
•creation of auxiliary images of products (for example, for drawing up directories, clip art drawing to the technical documentation, etc.).
Key components KOMPAS-3D:
•3D Modeling System
It is intended for creation of three-dimensional parametric models of specific parts and assembly units containing both original and standardized design elements. The parametric technology allows to quickly create models of standard products on the base of the once designed prototype. Numerous service functions facilitate solving auxiliary problems of designing and production maintenance.
•Drafting and Graphic Editor (KOMPAS-Graphic)
It is intended for automation of design engineering works in different fields of activities. It can be successfully used in machine-building, architecture, civil engineering, drawing up plans and schemes – everywhere where it is necessary to develop and issue graphic and text documents.
•The module for designing BOMs
It is used together with the System of three-dimensional modelling and/or the Plotting-Graphic editor. The module allows to issue various BOMs, sheets and other tabular documents.
The BOM document can be associatively linked to the assembly drawing and three-dimensional model of assembly.
•Text Editor
It is intended for the development of various text documentation. Both standard and free form document format is possible.
