BOM with nested and additional sections

Scroll

The possibility of creation of inserted and additional sections in BOM depends on BOM style.

By default, nested blocks and additional section blocks are available, for example, in the Simple BOM GOST R 2.106-2019 style and in some other BOM styles.

If necessary, nested and additional sections can be created in any style BOM. To do this, edit the required BOM style. The inclusion and configuration of nested section blocks is performed in the section Sections — Nested sections blocks of the dialog BOM style settings, and enabling and configuring additional section blocks is done in the section Additional section blocks of the same dialog.

The construction #XXX# in the header specifies the place, where designation of the document selected by user, usually — electrical wiring drawing or connection table. The specified construction is entered into the name of the block of inserted and/or additional sections when setting BOM style; quantity and symbol type between «grids» has no value. nested and/or additional sections when setting up the BOM style; the number and type of symbols between the hashes is not important.

The document designation in the block header can be entered manually or retrieved from an attached document. Entering the designation or selecting a document occurs when working with the specification after creating a section block.

To customize a block's header, select it in the BOM. The Parameter panel will display the sections for customization.

Manually enter the document designation in the Document designation field. The designation is transferred to the block header in the specification, replacing the #XXX# structure. If you need to return to the default header later, click the Revert designation from style  button to the right of the field.

To get a designation from a document, connect the document. To do this, click the button  in section Documents. In the window that opens, select the document and click the Open button. The selected document will be displayed in the table, and its designation will be in the block header in the BOM.

When connecting a document, a link is automatically established between its designation and the title block: in the Documents section, the Get properties from document  button is pressed. This means that when a designation in a connected document changes, the new designation will be transferred to the block header in the BOM. If you want to disable the link between the block header and the connected document, click the Get properties from document button.

If required, nested and additional sections can be created in any style of BOM. For this you should edit the required BOM style. Enabling and configuring blocks of nested sections is performed in the section Sections - Blocks of nested sections dialog BOM style settings, and enabling and configuring blocks of additional sections is performed in the section Blocks of additional sections the same dialog.

If a document is connected in the Documents section, then the Return designation from style   button is not displayed.

To replace the connected document with another one, click the buttonin section Documents. To delete a connected document, click the Delete button. The title block will not change.

If you want to open the document associated with the block header in a separate tab in the KOMPAS-3D window, click the Edit in the window button.

To enable/disable viewing of a linked document thumbnail in the Parameter panel, click the Enable document viewing  button.

A block title specified in a style can also contain one or more \n constructs. This construct causes all following text to wrap to a new line. Thus, using the \n construct, it's possible to create multi-line title blocks.
