KOMPAS-3D v24

Creating new windows KOMPAS-3D allows to work simultaneously with multiple system windows. Several documents can be opened in each window (documents are placed on their respective tabs).

You can create the required number of windows in several different ways. While you are working, you can move document tabs between windows.

Creating new windows

Creating new windows KOMPAS-3D is done by dragging the document tab out of the current window, i.e., dragging the document tab by its title bar.

While dragging, a thumbnail of the document is displayed on the screen. The newly created window contains the document being dragged. The size and position of the new window depend on the dragging method:

•drag to any location outside the tab title bar - the upper left corner of the new window KOMPAS-3D is located where the upper left corner of the thumbnail was when the mouse button was released; the window is in optimized mode (not maximized to full screen); the window size is the default for this mode;snaps to the selected border; it is in optimized mode and takes up half the screen.

•dragging to the left or right edge of the screen until highlighting appears - new window KOMPAS-3D snaps to the selected border; it is in optimized mode and takes up half the screen.

After dragging of the tab of the last opened document from the current KOMPAS-3D window this window remains on the screen. The Start page is displayed in it.

Transfer of document tabs between windows

If necessary, you can return the document into the original window, as well as move documents between windows. To do this, drag window by the tab header. It is necessary to move the tab until the following documents are highlighted in the window to which the tab is moved:

•borders of tab headers – if the window contains open documents,

•row in the upper part of the window – if the Start page is displayed in the window.

When the tab header is in the highlight region, release the mouse button.
