When building a local coordinate system, it is required to set the position of the starting LCS. To do this, use the elements of thePosition group in the Main section of the Parameter Panel. The following methods are available.

Manual specifying in the model graphic area.

Enter coordinates in the Coordinates field.

This field consists of three sections to enter the X, Y and Z coordinates. The current value of a coordinate is marked with a point, and the fixed value is marked with the symbol .

To fix the value of the coordinate, it is available to use the following methods:

click the icon on the left side of the field,

press <Enter> when the cursor is in the coordinate value input field.

Manual point selection can be used in combination with the input of its coordinates. In this case, one or two coordinates of the point are fixed, and then the point is specified by the mouse.

Specifying a point object. The required object is specified in the graphic area of the model or in the Design tree. Its name appears in the  Snap point field.

An associative link is formed between the specified point object and the beginning of the LSC. Due to this, the beginning of the LCS will follow the object when its position changes.

Building a special point. To do this, press the Build point button next to the Snap point field. That will start a subprocess of building a point. Select the building method and establish the required parameters. These parameters will determine the position of the LCS. Note that in this case the point is not an independent object. It is stored inside the LCS and can be edited only when editing the LCS.

With any method of assigning the position of the LCS, the coordinates of its beginning are automatically determined. Coordinate values are entered in the  Coordinates field and are fixed.

If it is required to set other coordinates or specify the LCS new position manually, disable the fixation.

It is also available  also to change the position of the LSC by specifying a new point or using base elements. In these cases, disabling fixation is not required.

Changing the position of the LSC does not change its orientation.
