To control the values of variables and/or mass, use the command Value check .

Procedure

1.Open the part or assembly on which you want to perform the test.

2.Select the value of which parameter you want to check in the field Value on the Parameter panel. The following options are available:

Variables — the values of the variables are checked. The Parameter panel displays a table in which the variables for checking are entered. These can be variables of operation parameters, variables of sketch dimensions, user variables.
To insert the required variable into the table, use one of the following methods.

Press the button Insert variable , located above the table. In the dialog that appears on the screen Variables select the variable row and click the button Paste. The dialog will close and the variable will appear in the table.

Select an operation in the Design tree or the required object in the graphic area all variables related to the specified operation or object, except for the parameter variable, will be inserted into the table Exclude from calculation.

If necessary, you can delete a variable from the table. To do this, select it and click the button Delete over the table.

Mass — the mass value is checked. The Parameter panel displays a line containing the current mass value of the part or assembly and the designation of the mass units.

3.Set the parameter limits. To do this, enter the maximum value in the Upper limit field and the minimum value in the Lower limit.
Limit values are specified using real numbers. For variables, limit values can also be specified using user variables, including expressions. Limit values set for variables apply to all variables selected for testing at once. Therefore, separate tests must be created for variables with different limits.

Mass limits are set in units corresponding to the current mass of the model.

4.Specify in which case the system should warn the user when the value is outside the specified range or when it is within it. To do this, set the switch Warn if the value is in one of the following positions.

Out of range checks whether the parameter value is outside the specified range. The system will issue a warning if the check results show that the parameter value is greater than the upper limit or less than the lower limit.

In range of checks whether the parameter value is within the specified range. The system will issue a warning if the check reveals that the parameter value is less than or equal to the upper limit or greater than or equal to the lower limit.

5.If necessary, specify the name of the test in the field Name in section Properties.

6.To perform a check, click the button Create object in the Parameter panel header.

In the Model tree in the section Diagnostics in folder of Value check the object Value check: N will appear with the corresponding icon .

A warning that a value has failed the check is displayed in the Tree as an error flag  !  next to the object Value check. Click the error flag — What's wrong? dialog box will appear on the screen. It will list the parameters to which the warning applies. If necessary, the check conditions can be changed by calling the Edit command in the dialog box. The command can also be called from the context menu of the Value check: N object in the Design tree.

The check does not take into account the values obtained during recalculating model dimensions.

7.To exit the command, click the button Finish in the Parameter panel header..
