A collection is an arbitrary set of objects. The collection, as a rule, combines the objects necessary to perform certain constructives. For example, a collection may contain the faces of the docking surfaces and/or other faces of the surrounding parts, defining the position and configuration of the newly created component.
Collections are used to select objects when creating copies of geometric objects. They allow you to quickly select the necessary objects without specifying them in the Design Tree or in the graphics area.
The collection can include objects of the current model, its components, and the detailing geometry contained in it.
Geometry collection
To create a collection, use the Geometry collection command
.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Specify the objects to be included in the collection in the Design Tree or in the model graphic area.
Objects for a collection are selected in the same way as objects for copying (see section Selection of objects to copy). The difference is that only objects from the current model can be included in the collection.
Objects for a collection are selected in the same way as objects for copying (see the section "Specifics of Selecting Objects for Copying"). The difference is that only objects from the current model can be included in the collection.
The specified objects are highlighted, and their names appear in the Objects field of the Parameters panel.
2.If necessary, specify the name of the created collection in the section Properties.
3.To finish creating the collection, click Create Object
.
In the Design Tree, in the section Collections, the icon of the collection
and its name will appear. When a collection is selected in the Design Tree, the objects included in it are highlighted in the graphic area.

When creating a collection in the model, no copies of the selected objects are created. The collection includes these objects themselves. |
In the future, you can change the collection of objects of the collection and its name. To that end, highlight the collection in the Design Tree and call the Edit
command from the Edit menu or the context menu. Actions for editing a collection are similar to actions for creating it.
Features of working with collections
•When working with the Model tree in the history view, note that the Collections section is shown at the top of the Tree regardless of when the object collections were created.
•The created collection is not a fully-fledged object. Its state cannot be managed (for example, hidden or excluded from calculations), its properties cannot be changed, etc.
•Collections contained in a model are not passed to versions of that model, either when creating versions or by the command Send to versions
. If required, create your own collection of objects in version.
