Creating a family table template |

A family table template is an empty table file containing columns named according to the properties and variables the user has chosen to include in the table, as well as a «File name» column.
The blank is created during the execution of the Model family 
. The command must be run for a model that is a family template. Filling the resulting blank with data is performed outside of KOMPAS-3D.

If the family table already exists, i.e. the path to the table file is specified in the Model family command, then the blank will be placed there by default and under the same name. To prevent the existing table from being replaced by the blank, change the file name and/or the folder for the blank. |
Procedure
1.After calling the command Model family Click the Create table button on the Parameter panel.
The table creation subprocess will start: table controls will appear on the Parameter panel.
2.Create a set of table columns.
The set of columns is displayed as a list in the Parameters field. By default, it contains the File name line, since the table must specify the file names of the family instances. The list is managed using the buttons to the right of the field:
•Select properties 
and Select variables 
— call up, respectively, dialogs for selecting properties and variables of the current model (family template) that need to be included in the table;
•Move up 
and Move down 
— change the order of the rows in the list, which means changing the order of the columns in the table. This order can be arbitrary.
3.In the Table file section, specify the name, file format, and location for the table.
4.Click the button Save 
in the Parameter panel header. If the folder for storing the table is not specified, a dialog box for selecting this folder will appear. As a result:
•a table template will be created in the specified folder,
•the table creation subprocess will be completed and you will be returned to the Model family command, where the path to the generated table will be specified in the Table field.
5.The created table needs to be filled with data. This can be done without completing the Model family command:
5.1. open the table in a spreadsheet editor, enter the required values into the cells and save the file,
5.2. go to the KOMPAS-3D window and in the Model family command, click the Reread button 
.
If necessary, you can complete 
the Model family command while editing the family table. After editing, reopen the family template model if it was closed and run the Model family command in it. In this case, the table will be reread automatically.
6.Continue working with the command Model family.
