Configuring keyboard shortcuts |

Some commands of the KOMPAS-3D system can be invoked using keyboard shortcuts. The list of default keyboard shortcuts is given in Appendix Key shortcuts to run commands.
If necessary, you can change the keyboard shortcut that calls a command as well as assign the required shortcut to a command which could not be called using the keyboard. These actions are performed in the Keyboard Settingsdialog, which is invoked by the Keyboard Settings... command from the Interface Settings button menu
in the Main Menu bar of the KOMPAS-3D system.
Step-by-step instructions
1.From the list of system commands in KOMPAS-3D, displayed in the Keyboard Settings dialog, choose the command which a key shortcut needs to be assigned. Please note that the set of commands displayed in the dialog is limited to the selected application area.
For quick selection of the command, you can use the search toolbar.
After selecting the command in the right-hand part of its line a field appears to enter the key shortcut.
2.Set the cursor in the entry field ad press the desired key or key shortcut. It will appear in the field and will be assigned to the selected command.
If the given shortcut is already assigned to another command, the screen will display a message about the command it is assigned to.
•To assign the shortcut to the selected command, click Reassign button in the message. The shortcut will be assigned to the selected command and will no longer be used to the original one.
•To cancel the shortcut assignment, press the Cancel button in the message.

Some key shortcuts are assigned to system commands – commands that perform various actions in the system. For example, the combination <Ctrl>+<Enter> completes object creation/editing operations, the combination <Ctrl>+<G> controls the display of the auxiliary grid in a graphic document, the key <F5> triggers reconstruction, etc. In the lines of such commands, a symbol If you enter one of such shortcuts for another command, the screen will display a message that you cannot assign it, and the entry will be cancelled. |
You can change the set keyboard shortcut, delete it or return to the default option.
•To change it, press the new key shortcut.
•To delete, click the
icon in the right part of the input field. Note that in this case you cannot use <Delete> or <BackSpace> keys to delete — when pressing any of these keys the contents of the field is replaced with the key name.
•To return to the default option, click Return value to default line located under the list of commands. The row is displayed in the dialog if the command by default has a keyboard shortcut assigned and this shortcut is changed.

If a keyboard shortcut was reassigned from the initial command to any other one, to resume its use for the initial command, select this command in the list of the dialog and click Return value to default line. A message will be displayed on the screen showing which command the shortcut is currently assigned to. Confirm the assignment of the shortcut to the original command, by clicking the Reassign button. |
3.Set keyboard shortcuts for all the required commands. Please note that the command can have only one shortcut assigned.
4.If necessary, print the list of commands with the assigned keyboard shortcuts. To do this, define the set of commands for output by selecting the desired filter row, and click Print
button.
This will print all commands matching the filtering criteria which have keyboard shortcuts assigned to them (by default or by the user).
5.To save the current changes in the dialog, click Apply button.
6.To complete work in the dialog with saving changes, click OK button.
If you want to discard the changes, click Cancel button. This cancels only those action which were not saved using the Apply button.

The keyboard shortcut is displayed after the command name in the menu and in the tooltip that appears when you hover over the command button on the toolbar. |
