Sketch mode is a special mode for operations with the KOMPAS–3D three–dimensional model in which the sketch is built.
When switching to the sketch mode, the color of the tab of the current document and the header of the Parameter Toolbar changes to green. The sketch mode icon
appears in the model graphic area. Depending on the status of the sketch, the mode icon may contain the symbols '+', '-' or '!'. (see Section Diagnostics of a parametrized sketch).
The structure of the window Toolbar Panel, Main menu and Quick Access Bar changes – commands for building and editing graphic objects, for selection, measurements, dimensioning, imposing parametric links and constraints become available. parametric constraints.
A sketch coordinate system is displayed on the screen.
Operations in sketch mode are similar to operations with a KOMPAS–Fragment. The difference is that you can’t create such objects as service designations and tables, hatches, fills, broken lines and some other objects. This is due to the fact that they, unlike graphical objects, do not participate in the formation of the shape of a three–dimensional element when a sketch is moved and, unlike dimensions, do not determine the configuration of a sketch.
Create or edit a sketch image, and then close the mode.
