Unspecified surface finish management during editing of model properties

The symbol and parameter of unspecified surface finish are system properties of model document.

You can set parameters of unspecified surface finish or delete it when editing model properties. Use the following procedure.

1.Call the Property editing command.

2.Make sure that the list of properties displays the properties Majority Surface Finish Symbol and Parameter for Majority Surface Finish. Enable their display if required, pressing the button Property management .

3.Set the value of the property Majority Surface Finish Symbol. Select the required option from the drop-down list in the Value:

Options Machining Method Not Specified, Delete material layer and Keep Material Layer designate the roughness symbol without adding a symbol in parentheses,

Options Processing method is not set for some surfaces, With material layer removal for part of the surfaces and Without removing a layer of material for some surfaces, the roughness symbol is specified with the addition of a symbol in parentheses,

Variant Surface finish not specified deletes the unspecified surface finish designation.

4.If necessary, enter the property value Parameter for Majority Surface Finish in the cell Value.

5.To complete modifying the properties, click Create Object button on the Parameter Panel header.

Finish button allows you to cancel editing of properties.

If the majority surface symbol has not been created in the model, then after setting the Majority surface finish symbol and Majority surface finish parameter properties, the object appears in the graphics area and in the Model Tree.

If the unspecified roughness symbol has not been created in the model, then after setting the Unspecified Roughness Symbol and Unspecified Roughness Parameter properties, the object appears in the graphics area and in the Model Tree.
