Methods of setting display parameters |
Scroll |
Objects can have individual (manually specified) display settings or inherit these settings from other objects.
The method for setting display parameters for each object type in the current model can be configured during setup—in the Object Properties section of the configuration dialog. This setting applies only to newly created objects.
The settings for existing objects, as well as for individual faces of solids and surfaces, can be changed during their configuration by selecting the desired option from the Setting Method list on the Settings Panel.
The content of this list depends on the methods of defining available for the selected object. When working with properties of a model (a part or an assembly), this list is not available as the model display parameters can only be set manually.
The methods of setting display parameters are described in the table.

By source object Available for all objects |
•The edge has color and optical properties specified for the operation that resulted in this edge. •Components, solids, surfaces and operations (including arrays) will have the colors and optical properties configured for the model (or execution, if any). •Curves, points, axes and other objects of the model will be displayed using the color configured for the model (or execution, if any). |
|
By source Available for operations, including arrays, and components |
•The operation will be displayed according to the color and optical properties defined for the solid (or surface) generated by the operation. •The array will be displayed according to the color and optical properties defined for the object being copied. •The component will be displayed as it looks in its file. |
|
By layer Available for objects that may be located on layers (all objects except for operations and edges) |
The objects have colors, optical properties and texture set for the layer that contains these objects. |
