Copying BOM Item |
Scroll |
You can also create a BOM item by copying an existing item and then editing the copy. When copying a base object, a base object is generated, when copying an auxiliary object, an auxiliary object is generated.
To copy an object, select it (without entering the text editing mode) and run the Edit — Copy object command.
The system will create a new object with a text part that duplicates the text part of the selected object, and will switch to the editing mode of this text part (see section Entering and editing the text part of the BOM object). After changing the data in the columns of the new object, confirm its creation.
An item created by copying another object is no different in its properties and parameters from objects created using the Insertion — Add Base/Auxiliary object command.
Copying is normally used to create objects with the text slightly different from the text of an existing object.
The copied object is placed in the same section of the BOM as its prototype. The copy cannot be placed in a different section.

When copying, please note that the data from additional columns of the selected object (see section Additional Columns) are transferred to the additional columns of the copies. |
