General information about large assemblies |
Scroll |
If an assembly is large enough—that is, if it contains more than 1,000 components—it is typically designed by several engineers. In addition, the components of a large assembly often have fairly complex geometries.
Therefore, when working with large assemblies, the following must be ensured:
•optimization of computer resource usage,
•restricted access to different parts of the assembly when multiple developers are working on it,
•protection of one developer’s work on the assembly from changes made by other developers.
The above requirements can be met by:
•KOMPAS-3D's special settings that reduce computer resource usage (see the section 3D editor settings for working with large assemblies),
•restricting editing of certain build components (see the section Locking the component from being edited).
