BOMs can be exported to spreadsheet formats (XLSX, XLS, and ODS) as follows:

•With the default settings. To do this, use the File —  Save As... command. When you select this command, the standard file save dialog box appears.

•With user-defined settings. To do this, use the File — Export command. It is described in detail below.

BOM export with custom settings

When BOM exporting to XLSX, XLS, and ODS formats, you can select the objects to include and configure the export settings.

Procedure

1.Select File —Export.

2.Select the desired format from the list in the Format field in the Main section of the Options Panel.

3.Specify the name of the file that will be created as a result of the export and the path to it in the File Name and Folder fields.

4.If necessary, upload the export configuration file to the Configuration field or save it (after selecting the objects and specifying the parameters).

•To upload a configuration file, click the Configuration link and select the desired file in the dialog box that opens.

•To save the specification export settings to a configuration file, click the Save to File button. When you click the button, a standard file save dialog appears on the screen. After saving, the path to the configuration file and its name are displayed in the Configuration field.

•If you want to discard the configuration, clear the field by clicking . The export settings will revert to their default values.

5.Select the sections you want to export in the Sections to export section. To select the desired sections, check or uncheck the corresponding checkboxes.

Items displayed in abbreviated form in the BOM will be shown in full in the final file. The following are displayed in abbreviated form:

•objects in the Documentation section—if they have a document code and a designation that matches the BOM designation; more details...

•version objects — if the current BOM includes only version numbers.

6.Select the types of BOM objects to be exported in the Objects to export section. To select the required object types, check the corresponding options.
If the bill of materials contains items/materials under a general name and the export of general names is enabled, the item/material names in the output file will be displayed the same way as in the BOM: under the general name in abbreviated form. If the option is disabled, the full names of the objects are exported without the general name.

7.Select the graphs in the Columns to export section.
The graphs available for export are listed in the table. The list of columns corresponds to the style of the exported BOM. To display the columns in the table, enable the option for the desired column type:

•The Main columns are those displayed in the BOM form. The set of columns depends on the style of the exported BOM.

•Additional columns contain supplementary information about the item in the BOM, such as weight. Additional graphs are not displayed in the BOM form. The set of columns depends on the style of the exported BOM.

•Utility — columns containing the following information: section number, subsection number, object type, and the BOM code itself.

8.Set the export settings for each column in the settings table.

9.Export the BOM by clicking the Save to File button. A message appears on the screen confirming that the export was successful.

10.To finish the task, click the Finish button.
