Setting position of designation plane |
Scroll |
The plane of designation is located in parallel to the datum. As the base plane, any flat face, a coordinate or construction plane can be used.
Originally, the base plane is selected by system automatically depending on a the model position relative to the screen plane. By default, as the base plane one of the coordinate planes is used. If as the designated object a dimension or designation is specified, then the created designation is located in the plane of this object.
|
During creation of designation, you can expand the model to make the plane of the designation being created be parallel to the screen plane. To that end, invoke the Normal to... command on the Quick Access Bar. |
If necessary, it is possible to replace the base plane and also to displace the designation plane in parallel to itself. For that, the Location group on the Parameter Panel is used.
To replace the base plane, click the name of the Base plane field. Then specify a flat object in the graphic region. The name of the selected object will appear in the field.
The plane of designation runs through the point at which the designated object was specified (or through the object itself, if it is a point object). If necessary, it is possible to displace randomly the plane of designation or link it with the object available in the model.
•To arbitrarily displace the designation plane, drag the characteristic point
located in the corner of the plane phantom. The phantom will be moving so that the plane of designation remains parallel to the datum, and all the starting points of branchings — at the the designated object (objects).
|
It is impossible to arbitrarily shift the plane of the surface finish designation or the datum surface during their creation. |
|
If the movement of the plane of designation is impossible, for example, when the designated object is a point or edge parallel to the base plane, the phantom remains in place. |
•To link the position of the plane of designation with the available object, click the name of the Alignment field. Then specify an object of fixation in the graphic region. The plane of designation will be running through this object. Any point, straight-line or flat object of model the located in a way making it possible to draw a plane through it and which is parallel to the base plane and is intersecting the object being designated can be an object of fixation.
The name of the selected object will appear in the Alignment field. Between the plane of designation and the object of fixation, an associative link is established. Due to the link, the plane follows the object of fixation on change of the last position.
After fixing the position of the plane of designation, the phantom of the plane will cease to be displayed in the graphic region.
