Automatic overlaying of matings when creating a component by mirroring

Scroll

Creating a component by mirroring automatically created a Symmetry or Dependent position mating.

A Symmetry mating is created for any type of mirroring, except for the mirroring by Symmetric component placement method with placement by the base component. In this case a Dependent position mating is created.

When multiple components are simultaneously mirrored, one of the specified matings is created for each of them.

The Symmetry and Dependent position matings are overlaid on the original components and the components resulting from mirroring.

Specifics of creating matings in the automatic mode:

A Symmetry mating automatically overlaid on the components of the model, has a direction in which the original component (the leading component of the mating) affects the position of the mirrored component (the driven component of the mating), limiting its degrees of freedom. More details on the mating direction, see Mating direction.

When automatically creating a Dependent position mating, the relative position of the mating components is determined by the sample. In this case, the original components (the component selected for placement and the base component) set the position pattern for the mirrored components, i.e. the original components are sample components, and the mirrored components are mating components.

In the course of further work, you can edit the matings or delete them. When editing matings, the same controls are used as when manually creating similar matings (see sections Symmetry and Dependent position). General techniques for working with matings are described in section Mating components.
