Dependent position |
Scroll |
The Dependent position mating is a fixation of the position of one component relative to another. The component that is fixed is called the dependent component, and the component the fixation is performed relative to is the base component.
If a pair of components is overlaid with a Dependent position mating, then moving any of them moves the other in such a way that the relative position of the components is preserved.
To fix one component relative to another, use the Dependent Position
command.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Select the dependent component by the specifying the object belonging to it in the Design Tree or in the graphic area of the model. The name of the selected component appears in the Dependent component field.
2.Similarly select the base component. Its name will appear in the Base component field.
|
A base component may be fully defined or fixed in the model. In this case, after the mating is overlaid, the dependent component becomes fully defined. |
3.If you want to position the mates relative to each other just like some other two components of the model, set the By instance toggle switch to position I (enabled).
The Parameter Toolbar will display the controls to select the dependent and the base sample components, whose relative position which will be the sample for the mating components. The position of the dependent sample component is calculated relative to the coordinate system of the base sample component, i.e. the coordinate systems of the base and dependent mating components will be positioned relative to each other in the same way as the coordinate systems of the samples.
Specify the dependent and the base sample components. Their names will appear in the appropriate fields. In this case, the dependent mating component will move in such a way as to occupy a position in accordance with the sample. This position is fixed relative to the base component of the mating and is preserved if one of the mating components is moved. If one of the sample components is moved, the dependent mate component moves in accordance with the new position pattern.
4.To complete creating the coupling, click Create object
on the Parameter Panel header.
After the operation is confirmed as completed, the mating is overlaid on the specified objects, and the corresponding icon
appears in the Construction Tree.

Conjugation Dependent position is automatically created upon adding component by mirroring, if the method of reflection is Symmetric component placement with placement by base component. In this case, the mating components are components obtained by mirroring, and their source components are used as sample components. |
5.To complete operation of the command, click Finish
.
