Changing orientation of components

This is available when overlaying matings of all types except matings Tangency, Symmetry, and Dependent Position.

By default, the mating components are moved so that the mating condition is met, and the value of movement of components relative to their initial position is minimal. Sometimes the position of the components is different than required. For example, after overlaying the Coincident mating on the flat sides of some parts, these parts are on one side of the plane of the specified faces, but they are required to be located on opposite sides of the plane.

You can control the position of the mating components when mating is applied using the Reverse Orientation option. When you enable or disable the option, the position of the components in the model changes.

The option appears on the Parameter Toolbar after both mating objects are specified.

Remembering parameters

When applying several matings of the same type that have the same parameters, you can use the specified parameters until the command completes. To do this, after setting common parameter values for the objects, press the Remember Status button, then continue applying the conjugations.

More information about remembering parameters...

Example 1. Positioning multiple objects parallel to each other.

1.Invoke the Parallel command.

2.Specify the object other objects should be positioned parallel to.

3.Click Remember Status button.

4.Sequentially specify the objects to mate, by clicking the Create Object button after specifying each of them.

Example 2. Positioning multiple objects symmetrically to the same plane.

1.Invoke the Symmetry command.

2.Specify the symmetry plane.

3.Click Remember Status button.

4.Sequentially specify the pairs of objects that should be located symmetrically to the given plane by clicking the Create Object button after specifying each pair.
