It is often necessary to create several objects that have a number of identical parameters. A typical example is concentric circles (their identical parameters are center point coordinates).

KOMPAS-3D provides the ability to save the parameter values and use them until the current command is completed when building subsequent objects.

To use identical parameters when creating objects, perform the following actions.

1.Set the parameters which should be retained.

2.Press the button Remember Status or the key combination <Ctrl> + <Shift> + <P>. The button will remain in the pressed state which indicates the parameters are retained.

3.Perform the constructions while you need the retained parameters.

4.Press the button Remember Status.

You can retain parameters when performing various operations. A few examples of using this feature are listed below. Having looked through them, try to construct the following groups of objects yourself:

concentric arcs with the same aperture angle,

line segments with equal length and the same starting point,

line segments with equal length which are parallel to the same object,

as well as perform the following actions:

make the radii of several circles and arcs equal,

measure the lengths of several curve portions starting from the same point.

Example 1. Concentric circles

1.Run the Circle command.

2.Set the center point of the circle.

3.Click the button Remember Status.

4.Sequentially specify points lying on the circles.

If you unfix the center coordinates, and then specify another centerpoint, you can construct a new family of concentric circles.

Example 2. Measuring the distance from one point to several other points

1.Invoke the Distance between two objects command.

2.Set the point to measure the distance from.

3.Click the Remember Status button.

4.Sequentially specify the points to measure the distance to.

The Information window will display the measured distance values.
