How to start building a model |
Scroll |
Before creating a model, there is always the question of where to start building. To answer it, it is necessary to at least approximately present the design of the future part.
Mentally exclude from this design chamfers, rounding, grooves and other small structural elements. Break the part into its constituent elements (parallelepipeds, prisms, cylinders, cones, tori, kinematic elements, etc.).
Usually, the largest of these elements is built first. If there are several elements of comparable size in the part, you can start building from any of them.

To create such a part it would be advisable to build several solids and then merge them. Some parts, for example, segment liners, consist of several solids that are not joined together. Details about multibody modeling... |
Sometimes the construction starts with a simple element (for example, a parallelepiped, a cylinder), surrounding the projected part (or its section).
In some cases, you can select the first element (as well as outline the further procedure for designing the part), considering the technological process of its manufacture.
Generally speaking, it is impossible to give universal recommendations for creating 3D models. Any constructor develops their own ideas about a convenient modeling order after independently building several models.
