Each line of a multiline is defined by a set of parameters. Their values are displayed in a table located in the Lines and limiters section.

The table contains the following parameters:

line offsets relative to the baseline,

line styles.

Rows in the table are arranged in ascending order of line offsets. The offset can take values from –50000000 to 50000000.

The Template group of buttons, located above the table, allows you to save the line parameters in multiline template and load them from the template.

The buttons located at the top of the table allow you to control the lines. The description of these buttons is presented in the table below.

Multiline Line Buttons

Button

Description

Create New Line

Allows you to add a new line to the multiline.

After pressing the button, a new line is added to the multiline, and a new row is added to the table, containing the parameters of the new line. By default, this line has the Main style and negative offset. Adding is done in increments of 10.

To change the line offset, enter the desired value in the appropriate Bias column cell, and to change the style – select the desired option in the Style column cell. More about selecting line style...

Create symmetric line

Allows you to add a new line to the multiline, symmetric to the highlighted one in the table.

After pressing the button, a new line is added to the multiline, and a new row is added to the table, containing the parameters of the new line. The added line has the style of the selected line and its offset with the opposite sign. A new row takes a position in the table corresponding to its offset.

The button is not available if a line that already has a symmetrical line is highlighted in the table, or if the offset of the selected line is 0.

Delete

Allows you to delete the line selected in the table from the multiline.

After pressing the button, the selected line is deleted from the multiline and from the table.

The button is not available if there is only one line in the table or if all lines are selected.

The default set of multiline lines for new or current documents is specified in the dialog Multiline.

Degenerated multiline lines are not shown in the document. When such lines appear in a multiline, a message appears about the impossibility of their display.

Degenerated lines are not deleted from the multiline – they are displayed in the table in the  Lines and limiters  section. When the shape of the baseline and / or the offset values of these lines change, they become visible.

If during construction or editing of a multiline all its lines degenerate, then in the graphics area only the baseline phantom is displayed, and the Create object  button becomes unavailable.
