Parameters of the Shell Ring

Scroll

Thickness

Thickness of the shell ring is set in the Thickness field.

The Change Direction button to the right of this field allows setting the direction of adding material – outward or inward relative to the surface created by moving a sketch.

Radius

You can set the internal radius for bends in the contour corners in the Radius field. Depending on the selected thickness direction, the radius can be internal or external. The minimum admissible value of the internal radius is 0.0002 mm.

To select a shape for bends of an oblique shell, use the group of buttons Type of bend. The following options are available:

Cylindrical — the bends have the shape of a cylinder,

Conical — bends have a conical shape.

The choice of the shape does not affect the bends which correspond to the arcs in the sketch. Such bends in a sloped shell ring are always conical.

Design Method

You can define direction and distance of the shell ring construction in a number of ways. To select the required method, use the Method group of buttons. The following options are available:

At distance,

 To object .

Parameters for the selected method are specified in the same way as when determining the extrusion depth.

Slope

The side face slope angle of the shell ring is set in the field Angle. The Change Direction button to the right of this field allows you to set the direction of the slope — inward or outward.
