Flanges of shell ring bases
Parameters of flanges of the shell ring bases are set in the Borders section.
To select a method for creating borders of bases, use the group of buttons Base Borders. The following options are available.
Perpendicular to sheet plane: the edges of the bases are perpendicular to the plane of the shell ring development (Figure a).
Coincidence with base surfaces: the edges are trimmed by the base surfaces.
For a ruled shell ring, these are the planes of the first and second bases (Fig. b).
For a simple shell ring, these are the sketch plane and the plane parallel to it (Fig. b). If the shell is constructed by the method To Object and the surface is specified as the object, then one edge is trimmed by the sketch plane, while the other by the surface (see figure b).
