Editing raster images using KOMPAS-3D is impossible. To edit a picture, open it in the application capable of handling raster graphics.

To that end, select the inserted raster object and invoke the Edit sourcecommand from the context menu. This command works differently depending on the method of inserting a selected raster object:

If an object was inserted by an external link, then after invoking the Edit Source command it is opened in an application associated in the Windows to the file type which this raster object has.

If an object was taken into the document, then after invoking the Edit Source command, it opens in the format and application that are set during settings.

Once the picture is opened, make the required changes into it. Then save it and close the picture file. The changes made will be transferred to the KOMPAS document.

While editing the source of the raster object taken into a document, a file is create whose type is specified during setup of the graphic editor, and the name coincides with the source file of the insert. The created file is allocated in a folder designed for storage of temporary files. If the closure of the drawing occurs before the end of the KOMPAS-3D session, then the drawing changes are transferred to the KOMPAS-document, and the temporary file is deleted. Otherwise, the image in a KOMPAS-document is not changed, and the picture file is remained in the folder for temporary files.

If an object was inserted by external reference, then in its context menu there is another editing command — Edit with.... After you run the command, a dialog box to specify the program will appear on the screen. Select the software that supports the type of file which has the inserted picture, and click the OK. button. The picture will be opened with the specified software program.
