A link between the view caption and designation of a detailing object

Scroll

The view caption and designation of a detailing object are formed of elements which are links. The exception is made only by a letter/number as part of the designation of a detailing object – it is determined automatically by the system or is entered by the user manually.

For a view caption, the sources of a link are a detailing object related to the view, and parameters of the view itself. For a designation of detailing object, the source of a link is the view to which that designation is linked.

Links generate associative links between the view caption and designation of a detailing object related thereto. Due to these links, the view caption and designation of a detailing object always conform to one another. You can at any time include or exclude any element and therefore, enable or disable any link.

The table represents a list of elements which may be part of a view caption and designation of the detailing object.

Elements of the view caption and designations of the detailing object

The element

Description

View caption

Literal or numerical designation

Related to the designation of a detailing object – a letter/number in the view caption is the same as that in the object designation.

"Expanded" signage

View Scale

"Rotated" signage

View rotation angle

Related to the parameters of the view itself or the reference view.

Respective parameters set for this view are passed to the "Scale" and "Rotation angle" elements.

The "expanded" signage is added into the caption, if the view displays a flat pattern of a sheet article, and the "rotated" signage – if the view is rotated.

Note that the "expanded" and "rotated" signages are linked to the parameters only if the view is associative. Otherwise, addition of these signages into the caption does not depend on the contents of view and its position.

Number of sheet where the detailing object related to the view is placed

The designation of the zone in which the detailing object related to the view is placed

Related to the detailing object – sheet number and zone name in the view caption is determined by the position of a detailing object in the drawing.

Designation of object formatting

Letter or number

Is set by the system automatically, or is entered manually by the user.

The number of sheet on which the view related to the designation is there

The name of the zone in which the view related to the designation is there

Related to the view – sheet number and zone name in the detailing object is determined by the position of the view in a drawing.

The view caption in which a node or a node in cross-section is displayed may contain only the numerical designation and sheet number.

Example

It is required to create an associative view in arrow direction. Designation of the view arrow and view caption must include all possible elements.

1.On the reference view, we set the designation View Arrow.

2.For this designation, we enable display of all elements – the literal notation, sheet number, and the designation of zone.

The literal designation is defined by the system – B.

3.After setting the designation, creation of a view is started automatically.

We place a view on sheet 2 in zone 3A, rotate it by the angle 30° and the 2:1 scale.

4.For a view caption, we enable display of all elements, except the "rotated" signage. We complete creation of a view.

Details of location of a view – on sheet 2, in zone 3A – are passed into the designation of a detailing object. It takes the following form:

From the detailing object, the literal designation is passed into the view caption – B and position of the view arrow in the drawing – on sheet 1 in zone 1B. The scale 2:1 and the rotation angle 30° are passed into the caption from the parameters of the view itself. Besides, since the view is rotated, the "rotated" signage is added. As a result, we obtain a view caption:

If further on the drawing changes, for example, the view is moved to another zone, the view scale changes, etc. then these changes are passed to the view caption and the designation of detailing object.
