OEM to ANSI conversion
When importing documents, you can convert the encoding from DOS to Windows. It is necessary if the source file has been created in AutoCAD for DOS. To convert the encoding, please enable the Convert texts from OEM to ANSI setting on the Properties page.
Applying system styles to imported texts
Imported documents usually contain captions: text on the drawing, text on or below the leader landing, dimension captions, etc. When importing, there are two ways to write texts in the resulting document:
•write all texts with standard settings defined in the KOMPAS-3D document as default for the corresponding texts (matching text to system settings),
•create a custom text style in the KOMPAS document for each text style present in the DXF or DWG file (importing without matching to system settings).
It is recommended to use matching to system settings if the source document contains a large number of non-standard texts, and you want to standardize these texts in the resulting document. If you want to preserve the original design of the text, please disable the matching.
To convert the captions to standard design, please enable the Match texts to system ones settings on the Properties page.
You can modify the settings of the resulting texts (font style, character height, row spacing, etc.) in the settings dialog box of the KOMPAS-3D current document. The settings are applied to all the captions of the corresponding type simultaneously. For example, to modify the character height in dimension captions, run the Setup — Parameters... — Current fragment command (Current drawing) — Dimensions — Label and enter the required value in the Height field in the dialog that appears.

If the Match texts to system ones option is enabled, then the conversion of texts using *.tfn files does not occur (for *.tfn files see section. Converting texts). |
To preserve the original text detailing, please disable the Match texts to system ones setting.
The settings of the resulting texts will be defined by the styles imported into the KOMPAS-3D document from the DXF or DWG file. To modify the settings of all texts of the same style, run the Settings — Style Libraries — Text Styles… command.
When importing DXF or DWG documents, you can set the ratio of the width and height of the resulting texts to the width and height of the source texts. This way you can fit the width and height of the captions to the required size. For example, if you import a document with a table, and the captions appear outside of their cells, you should reduce the horizontal scaling of the text and import the document again.
To set up the text size, please go to the Properties page and use the Text compression and Text height coefficient fields.

Using *.tfn files, you can specify the coefficients of narrowing and height for each font separately (for more about *.tfn files, see the section). Converting texts). |
