Fillet Base |
Scroll |
The base of the die formed element is the portion of the sheet part where a die formed element joins the adjacent portions of the part.
Base edges are edges that are formed at the joints of faces of side walls of the die formed element and faces of the adjacent portions of the sheet part. Edges when belonging to inner side faces of the die formed element are considered as inner base edges, and when belonging to outer side faces – as outer base edges.

Inner and outer base edges
You can create die formed elements with or without base edge fillet.
To fillet base edges, set the Fillet Base toggle switch to I (enabled) and enter the fillet radius in the Base Radius field. The specified radius value R is used to fillet external base edges. The minimum fillet radius of the external base edges is 0.
The radius of the rounding of inner edges is equal to the sum (R + S), where S is the thickness of the sheet material. The minimum fillet radius of the internal edges is 0.0002.
