In KOMPAS-3D, you can create reports with tables containing objects data. Data on objects placed in the report is set on creation of these objects as property values.

Reports may be used for issuing various table–based documents not strictly bound to requirements set in the standards of any single system or industry. When editing data collected in the report, object properties are not changed.

The report table may include data from a model document or a graphic document. For example, a report may list the properties of parts: names, designations, weights, quantities, positions, manufacturers, prices etc. The list of parts and the set of properties contained in a report are defined by the user.

Components of any level (including standard and library items), solids, as well as graphic macro-elements, insertions of views and fragments may be used as objects for generating a report.

System–specific properties, as well as additional object properties, are transferred to a report. To learn about setting properties, see section Properties and reports.

The appearance of any report is defined by its style, where parameters are set by the user.

When creating reports in the KOMPAS-3D system, the following options are provided:

selection of objects in accordance with set criteria, such as object property and type, as well as restriction to a certain level of the model structure;

acquisition of data on the properties of specific objects, with the possibility of calculating the sum of their values, as well as editing the properties;

use of previously prepared report styles which, if necessary, may be edited in the course of report generation;

output of reports to printing;

placement of the generated reports in existing or newly created graphical or text documents of the KOMPAS-3D system, as well as saving reports in standalone files: KOMPAS-Drawings (*.cdw file), KOMPAS-Fragments (*.frw file), KOMPAS-Text Documents (*.kdw file), KOMPAS-Tables (*.tbl file), Text Files (*.txt file), ODF Spreadsheets (*.ods file), Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets (*.xls file);

creation of an associative report: a table related to the document containing objects used in generating it.
