Running and completing commands |
Scroll |
To start performing an operation, you should invoke the appropriate command. To do this, you should select the command name from the menu or click an appropriate command button on the toolbar panel. On hovering the cursor over the button, a tooltip with the command name and its brief description is displayed. If the command can be invoked using keyboard shortcut, then the keyboard shortcut is also displayed in the menu and in the tooltip.
After launching the operation, the Parameter Panel displays controls for parameters of the operation and/or parameters of the object that will be created in the document as a result of this operation (see an example of controls in the figure).
Performing of some operations requires confirmation, while other operation are performed automatically after specifying of the essential minimum parameters. For example, you can plot line segments one by one without confirmation, but hatch creation should be confirmed.
To confirm the execution of the operation, you need to press the Create Object
button in the Parameter Panel header area. Note that this button appears only after specifying minimum parameters which are required to perform the command. For example, right after launching of the extrusion operation there is no Create Object button – it appears only after specifying the section.
To confirm performing of the operation, you can use the following methods:
•Press the <Ctrl> + <Enter> key shortcut or click anywhere in the graphic area.
•Run a command from another group. If the launched command is not included in a group, then to confirm it you can invoke any other command.
For example, for the extrusion operation, the section and the object defining the distance of extrusion are specified. After that you can invoke the Rounding command – the extrusion element will be created, and construction of a fillet launched.
Note the following: confirmation in this way works if there is a phantom result of the operation in the graphic area, i.e., the existence of an element with the specified parameters is possible. So, if in the example above you specify zero extrusion distance, then the Rounding command will launch but the extrusion element will not be created.
In operations which are performed automatically there is no Create Object button.

Automatic execution of operations occurs only when creating new objects. If the object is being edited (and this starts the same operation as for its creation), then confirmation is required. |
Most operation are looped, i. e. are not completed after creating an object and allow to create multiple objects of one type in sequence (or perform multiple actions of one type). For example, with one launch of the line segment plotting operation you can plot multiple segments. To exit the operation after constructing the last object, click Finish
in the header area of the Parameter Panel or the press <Esc>.
You can also use the Finish button or <Esc> key to interrupt performing the launched command, i. e. refuse the started construction or action.

For your convenience, Create object and Finish buttons are duplicated on the Quick Access Bar. |
