If a document uses several coordinate systems, then any of them can be made current, edited or deleted, if it is no longer needed. Creation of a new LCS in a document is described in the section Creating a local coordinate system, and working methods with the existing coordinate systems are described in this section.

Note that in the drawing a LCS belongs to a view. So, for example, the current LCS is selected among the LCSs created in the current view. The LCSs created in other views are unavailable.

In the lists of coordinate systems, the CS 0 is present. For a fragment and sketch, that is – absolute coordinate system, and for the drawing view – the coordinate system of that view.

Selection of the Current Coordinate System

You can change the current coordinate system with another one, using the following methods:

Expand the list of coordinate systems on the Quick Access Toolbar and select the required system from it (the method is available while working in a drawing or fragment).

Invoke the Drawing — Local Coordinate System  command. A list of coordinate systems will appear on the Parameter Toolbar. The current CS is marked in the list with a dot to the left of its name. To make another CS current, click the field to the left of its name. The selected CS will be marked with a dot and displayed in the graphic region. Complete the command by clicking the Finish button in the Parameter Panel header area.

Editing and deleting local coordinate system

Editing and deletion is possible for local coordinate systems only. CS 0 can’t be either edited or deleted.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Run the Drawing — Local Coordinate System or the Create/Edit LCS commands from the list of coordinate systems on the Quick Access Toolbar (while working in a drawing or fragment).

On the Parameter Toolbar, controls of the document’s coordinate systems will appear.

2.Do the required actions:

To edit a LCS, select its name in the list and click Edit . You can:

rename the LCS – to do this, enter a new name directly into the line of the list;

change the CS relative to which the CS being edited is positioned – to do this, change the state of the switch CS 0/Current CS; in doing so, the values in the fields Start Point and Slope angle will be recalculated;

To change the position of the LCS, please enter the required values in the fields Origin and Slope angle or unlock these fields and specify the necessary points in the graphic area; note that if the edited LCS is the current one, and the switch CS 0/Current CS is in the position Current CS, then shifting and rotating the LCS is impossible, as this would mean setting the position of the LCS relative to itself.

To delete a LCS, select it in the list and click Delete .
If the current LCS is deleted, then CS 0 becomes the current LCS.

3.Complete the command by clicking Finish  in the Parameter Panel header area.

To undo any of the above actions, use the Edit – Undo command, or use the <Ctrl>+<Z> key shortcut.

Setting the rendering of coordinate systems

Invoke the Settings... command from the menu of the list of coordinate systems on the Quick Access Bar. On the screen, there will appear the the dialog, in which you can configure the color and style of display of coordinate systems in documents, as well as disable their display.
