Example 1
A drawing contains several circles with radius of 5 mm. You need to change their radius to 6 mm.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Select the circles to edit.
2.Activate the Parameter Panel.
The table will contain the following parameters:
•Object layer. If the selected circles are located in the same view at the same layer, the Object layer parameter value is the name and the number of that layer. Otherwise there is no value. (If the selected circles belong to different views, then the Object layer parameter has no value and you cannot enter it.)
•Center. As the centers of the selected circles do not coincide, the Center parameter has no value. (If the selected circles belong to different views, then the Center parameter has no value and you cannot enter it.)
•Radius. As the radii of all the selected circles are equal to 5 mm, the Radius parameter value is 5.
•Style. If all the circle are drawn in one line style, the Style parameter name is the name of this style. Otherwise there is no value.
3.Click in the radius value cell. The value will be selected.
4.Enter the value 6 and press <Enter>.
The radius of the selected circles will increase. The rest of circle parameters – layer, center coordinates, line style – will not change.
Example 2
The entire image of a part is located at the system layer of the first view of the drawing. In this view, the empty layers "Centerlines (#2)" and "Dimensions (#3)" are created. You need to move the centerlines and center designations to the "Centerlines" layer, and the dimensions to the "Dimensions" layer.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Select the part image.
2.Activate the Parameter Panel.
3.In the list of object types, select the Centerlines row.
The table will display the parameters of centerlines.
4.Click in the cell of the Object layer parameter value.
5.From the list that expands, select the Centerlines (2) layer.
The centerlines will be moved to the selected layer. The part image will remain selected, so you can continue to change parameters of the objects.
6.In the similar way move the center designations to the Centerlines layer, and the dimensions of all types to the Dimensions layer.
Example 3
There are designations of surface finish on the part drawing. Those where the parameter value is 0.63, should be edited by changing it to 1.25.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Activate the Parameter Panel.
2.Select all surface finish designations containing text 0.63.
2.1. Call the Select by Properties
command.
The Select objects by properties dialog will appear on the screen.
2.2. Expand the Symbols section of the object tree and enable the Surface Finishes option.
2.3. In the right–hand part of the dialog, for the Base Length/Surface Finish Parameter property select the Contains condition and enter the value 0.63.
2.4. Click the Select button in the dialog.
The dialog will close. All the surface finish designations with the value 0.63 in the drawing will be selected.
Parameters of the selected designations will appear in the table on the Parameter Toolbar.
3.Click in the cell of the Base Length/Surface Finish Parameter parameter value.
The text entry dialog will appear on the screen.
4.In this dialog, delete the text 0.63, enter 1.25 and click OK.
The dialog will close. The parameter value in the selected surface finish designations will change to 1.25.
