Plotting a curve by a group law |
Scroll |
When a curve is plotted by group law, each coordinate of the curve point is set by the corresponding function in the selected law. Using a group law, you can plot an involute, a parabola, a cycloid, etc.
After pressing Select Group Law
button on the Parameters toolbar, the expression insertion dialog box will appear on the screen. Select the group law in the list and click the Insert button in the dialog box. For more details on working in the dialog...
The functions for the respective coordinates are displayed in the Expression fields in the Law by <coordinate name> group of controls.
|
If the group law only determines functions for X and Y coordinates (e. g. circle involute law), then the expression for the Z coordinate does not change, it remains default. You can edit this expression, if needed. |
