Expression dialog |
Scroll |
Allows you to use expression elements from a predefined list to assign a value to a variable or specify a function for the coordinate of a curve point according to the law.
At the top of the dialog, there is a field in which the expression for insertion on the Variables panel or in the field for specifying the coordinates of a curve point by law is displayed. If the dialog is invoked to assign a value to a variable, then to the left of the field, the name of the variable for which the expression is composed is displayed. If the function of the point coordinates of a curve is specified by a law, the inscription Expression. is displayed.
The field is filled automatically on selection of an expression element or variable in the dialog box. The field contents can be edited. When editing, you can enter characters from the keyboard, paste them using the clipboard, add elements of expressions and variables.
For description of controls in this dialog box, see table.

Description |
|
Save expression |
The button allows you to save the expression in File of collection of mathematical expressions collection.law. |
|
List of expression elements |
The list contains elements of expressions, grouped together. In groups, there are system functions, constants, operators, whole expressions, functions of curves, and so on. In the Variables group, the most recently used variables in the session with the dialog are saved. In the Recent group, the latest elements of expressions used in the current session of KOMPAS-3D are stored. In the group From collection file are contained expressions written in the collection file of mathematical expressions collection.law. To insert an expression element or variable, expand the relevant group in the list by clicking the icon In the top part of the list, there is a search field where you can search for elements by name. While searching, filtering of elements is available. To enable one or multiple filters, click the Filters |
Table of variables of the current document |
The table contains variables available in the current document. At the top of the table there is a Variation list. If the document is a model with versions, then this list contains the designations of all versions of this model. You can select the desired version from the list. If a document does not have versions, the list is unavailable. To insert the required variable into the expression, specify it in the table. At the top of the table is the field for searching the variable. Search for the entered characters is conducted by all columns of the table. |
|
Variable Expression Table |
The table is present in the dialog if an expression with variables is selected in the list of elements. The variables included in the expression are displayed in the table. Column Name Substitution allows variables to be given arbitrary names. These names are used to designate variables in the field, where the created expression is displayed. |
To insert the resulting expression, press the Paste button. The Cancel button allows you to reject the insertion.
