Surface by grid of curves is a spline surface plotted by two mutually intersecting families of curves. The intersection points of the curves are the nodes of the grid.
All curves of the first family are considered U-direction curves, and all curves of the second family are considered V-direction curves. For one of the directions, points may be used as one or both terminal curves.

u1, u2, u3 are curves of the direction U; v1, v2, v3 are curves of the direction V.
The nodes of the grid are marked with circles

If required, the surface can be constructed using only the curves of the first family (U direction). |
