Examples of conic section surface plotting

This section contains examples of plotting a conical section surface with various sets of parameters.

Wireway model

To build the wireway model, a conical section surface will be used.

The edges of the faces included in the model are indicated as guides on which the conical section curve is based. The faces are used to define the slope angles of the tangents to the conical curve.

The shape of the conical section curve is determined by the curve on the surface, which is the spline plotted in the model. The same spline will be used as the centerline along which the section movement occurs.

Model Boat

To plot one of the lateral sides of the boat, the surface of the conical section will be used. The second side will be the mirroring of this surface.

Splines are configured to plot the surface of the conical section. The slope of the tangents to the conical curve is determined by the slope of the sides of the section triangle relative to its base (chord). The shape of the section conical curve is defined by a coefficient that changes according to the linear law. The movement of the section occurs along Axis Z of the model's coordinate system.

Respirator model

A part of the respirator side surface with a complex shape is plotted using a conical section surface.

The edges of the face in the model are specified as guides on which the conical section curve rests. This face is used to define the slope angles of tangents to the conical curve.

The shape of the conical curve of the section is defined by the coefficient that changes according to the cubic law. The movement of the section occurs along Axis X of the model's coordinate system.
