Exploding curves

Scroll

Some curves can be exploded. Types of objects that appear as a result of explosion and their representation in the Design Tree depend on types of the source objects (see the Table).

Curves not listed in the Source Object Type column of the table cannot be exploded.

Results of exploding curves

Type of source object

Result of exploding

Collapsed curve,
Unfolded Curve,
Curve of intersection,
Projection curve,
Outline,
Curve by two projections

Curve without history, including the same contours that the initial curve included. In the Design Tree, contours are displayed as subordinate objects of the curve.

Spline by objects

The spline by poles is not connected to the objects from which the original spline was constructed.

If the original spline consisted of several, then after being exploded, each of them will be displayed in the Design Tree as a separate object.

Isoparametric curve group on surface

A set of individual isoparametric curves associated with the same surface as the original group of isoparametric curves.

Each curve is displayed in the Design tree as a separate object.

To explode the curves, select them in the Design Tree and call the Edit — Explode command. If you need to destroy one curve, you can also call the Explode command from the context menu.

After you start the command, the explosion dialog box appears on the screen. To confirm explosion, click the Explode button in this dialog box.

Objects or groups of objects that appear as a result of explosion are placed in the Construction Tree at the same positions where the source (exploded) objects were located. In the graphic area of the model, no changes occur after the curves are destroyed: their shape and position remain the same.
